Community Health Profiling Training
September 9 @ 8:30 am - September 12 @ 5:00 pm MDTFree
Great Plains Tribal Epidemiology Center is proud to offer an exciting professional development opportunity for tribal staff to learn from the GPTEC team how to access, analysis, and report data.
Through the training, tribal health staff will learn to: 1) access publically-available data sources and pull or request relevant tribal data; 2) process data into a variety of charts; 3) report data in the form of a tribal-specific Community Health Profile (CHP); and, 4) “translate” data into talking points for use in policy, grants, and other venues. Over the course of the training, participants will create a CHP for their tribe that includes demographic, maternal and child health (MCH), infectious disease, and mortality (leading cause of death) data.
Please note that due to the use of tribal data during the training, participation is contingent upon the receipt by GPTEC of necessary approvals from tribal health officials.
Funding for travel-related costs is available from GPTEC.
Registration for the training opens today and will close at 11:30 pm on August 31. Spots are limited, so register today at https://2019-great-plains-tec-chp-training-2.eventbrite.com
