Publicly Available Data Sources:

SEER* Stat: Data system used to retrieve Cancer related data. Made available through the National Cancer Institute.

WISQARS: Data System used to retrieve Injury related data. Made available through the CDC.

WONDER: Data system used to retrieve Birth, Cancer, STI, Environment, Mortality, and Population data. Made available through the CDC.

YRBS: The Youth Risk Behavior Survey monitors risk factors for youth including Unintentional Injury and Violence, Alcohol and Drug Use, Tobacco Use, Physical Activity, and Diet. Made available through the CDC.

BRFSS: The Behavior Risk Factor Surveillance System monitors risk factors in adults including Chronic Disease, Lifestyle Habits, and Preventative Care Usages. Made available through the CDC.

U.S. Census: The census provides Population Statistics and Characteristics.

American Fact Finder: Easy to use query system for finding Census Data. Made available through the U.S. Census.

Fatal Analysis Reporting System: FARS is a nationwide census providing NHTSA, Congress and the American public yearly data regarding fatal injuries suffered in motor vehicle traffic crashes.

Founded in September 2003, GPTEC is a component of the GPTCHB and is one of 12 tribal epidemiology centers funded by the Indian Health Service’s Division of Epidemiology and Disease Prevention to assist in improving the health of American Indians and Alaska Natives.
